Miss June - The Lovely Lieu Pink
Our May model search takes us to again to sunny California, where we stumbled accross a pretty young thing going by the name of Lieu Pink. Lieu is a newcomer to the import scene and currently resides in California while she pursues her dream of taking over the import world. You can check her out at her website www.lieu-pink.com. Let's hear what she had to say during our recent interview.
WW: How did you get into modeling?
Lieu: When I was 17 a family friend [a photographer] wanted to use me in his shots to build his portfolio. I sort of took it easy with the whole modeling thing until 19 when I stumbled across import modeling. All the money to be made for being a short model and being asian (I'm 5'3"!) is in the import scene and it's SOOOO much fun! I mean, c'mon what better job is there to get paid standing in front of sexy ass off the hook cars!! haha
WW: What was your first big gig?
Lieu: My first "official" big gig was the contract GXS Motorsport Models (the agency that I work for) landed with D1. We were the official D1 girls for the D1 Grand Prix at Irwindale and we had so much fun!!!
WW: I noted from your biography that you are very interested in a lot of humanitarian causes and charities??
Lieu: It wasn't so much of a conscious decision...it's just the sort of person I've always been. I just changed my major to human development, because I figured if I'm going to spend the rest of my life working, I want it to be helping people and improving their lives.
WW: Is traveling a major part of your work schedule?
Lieu: Not as much as you may think! Hopefully when I get bigger, I'll get more work oppurtunities in parts of the world that don't involve California as much as I do love it here.
WW: I heard you made the top ten in Ms. Asia California, do you enjoy doing pageants? I feel like the girls must be really catty.
Lieu: I only participated in one pageant, the Ms. Asia California, but I found out very quickly that pageants are DEFINITELY not my thing! lol. The girls weren't so much as catty, it was just a hassle to spend hundreds and hundreds of dollars on dresses, hair, makeup, all that stuff and to worry about the right thing to say on stage etc., only to win a prize that would hardly even pay for the expenses you went through preparing for the damn pageant in the first place!
WW: What's your background??
Lieu: My background consists of a Vietnamese, English and Japanese heritage. My stage name, Lieu Pink, is my middle name and Pink is derived from Pinkerton which is my last name.
WW: Do you go out a lot? Are you big into the party circuit?
Lieu: Oh believe me, as I said before I make time for the important things and going out and partying is a very important thing to me because it helps me loosen up from my high pressure life. All work and no play will drive you NUTS! Work hard, play hard. Sometimes you just gotta loosen up!
WW: Are you more of a fine Italian auto sort of girl? Or do you prefer rides that are tuned to race?
Lieu: Hey babe, if it looks good than I'm all over that shit lol
WW: What do you drive?
Lieu: I drive a lil Toyota Echo, it's a girly practical car, but it gets the job done. One good thing that I love is that it's a stick shift, and what's sexier than a girl that knows how to drive stick? haha
WW: The Cali auto scene is crazy, if you could choose one dream car, what would it be?
Lieu: Only one dream car? Aw, your killing me! haha I would have to say at the moment I'm infatuated with the Porshe GT3 RX. Hot mama!
WW: Any big plans for 2006?
Lieu: Of course, I'm gonna take over the import scene. Watch out [import] world, step aside for Lieu Pink! It's going to be a beautiful thing :)
WW: Any shout outs, comments, or words of wisdom?
Lieu: Any shout outs, comments, or words of wisdom? “If there is a will, there is a way.” If you truly want to get in (or out!) of something badly enough you will find a way to make it happen. I don't believe in laziness, and I despise self pity. Work for what you want with what you've got and you will reap your rewards. Thank you guys for doing the feature! I'm very grateful to you guys for giving me this opportunity! You guys rock!!! :) I also want to thank GXS Motorsport Models, Toussaint [the CEO] is amazing in all that he does for the girls, he really busts his ass for us. If you want to book me for anything import related you can contact Toussaint directly [his contact info is at www.gxsmotorsportmodels.com] and/or send me an email at lpink@gxsmotorsportmodels.com.
