SEPTEMBER AUTO 2006 - LAMBORGHINI MIURA -
-- LAMBORGHINI EXPERIMENTAL AUTO -- The new Lamborghini Miura concept-car is the modern day equivalent of the P400 Miura from 1966. Car fanatics of all ages hail the Miura as a classic that has truly stood the test of time. The Lamborghini Miura Concept was designed by Audi/Lamborghini design chief Walter de Silva and was clearly inspired by the original Miura (see picture below).

The wraparound windshield is of particular interest and gives the new Miura a cleaner more savage look and feel than its predecessor. The Miura concept was just that, only a concept. A final decision hasn’t been made as to whether or not it will ever hit production.
It’s what the folks at Lamborghini call an
“advanced exterior design study,” meaning that the interior technicalities of the car haven’t been ironed out. If the Miura gets a greenlight for production in late 2007, Miura will most likely come in all wheel drive form, and special attention will be given to keeping curb weight low. A titanium pipe exhaust system, along with ceramic disc brakes, new suspension springs, and composite paneling for the roof and hood can all be expected.
Once built critics expect a top speed of roughly 200 mph, with an excelertion of 0-60 mph that would take 3.3 seconds. Many think the Miura production run prices will top the Ferrari Enzo of $670,000 and the run will be a limited production.
