Miss May - The Beautiful Ms. Carla Maria
Our May model search takes us to again to sunny California, where we happened accross a gorgeous and ambitious young creature who goes by the name of Ms. Carla Maria. Carla is from the bay area, and currently resides in California while she pursues her studies. Being a full-time student while running your own business is no easy feat, but Carla is really doing her thing! You can check her out at her website www.mscarla.com. Let's hear what she had to say during our recent interview.
WW: How did you get into modeling?
Carla: I did some modeling when I was younger but I got into the import scene when I was about 19. A photographer asked me if I had considered modeling and I decided to it might be fun!
WW: What was your first big gig?
Carla: I guess it would be shooting for Modified Car Magazine. It was my first car magazine and one of my favorite photographers, Chris Carlo shot it and it was a lot of fun.
WW: What about modeling do you enjoy most?
Carla: Seeing new places and meeting my fans. Hearing from my fans and meeting them is by far the most rewarding part of all.
WW: Do you get to travel a lot for work? And if so what are some your favorite places you’ve been?
Carla: I get to travel a good amount, but recently school has kept me pretty busy so I've been spending a lot more time at home. I went to Hawaii several times in the last year which has been tons of fun and I've travelled to Cabo as well for work.
WW: I noted from your biography that you are currently earning a degree in psychology, what type of psychology are you studying, and what do you plan to do with it after school?
Carla: I have actually switched to business administration as my major with psychology on the side. As far as what I will be doing afterschool... Still not 100% sure but I'm not too worried and plan to pursue something that will make me happy.
WW: What type of music do you listen to?
Carla: All genres...hip-hop/r&b, alternative, rock, house...everything except country I guess.
WW: What’s a typical Friday night like in the life of Carla?
Carla: Partying with my friends and hittin' the clubs
WW: You strike me as being very up-beat, do you have a lot of road rage when you get behind the wheel?
Carla: Lol..I do have a fiery temper and can be a real b*tch when someone disrespects or angers me... However, I practice yoga frequently so I don't lose my temper to often and road rage isn't too bad of a problem.
WW: Are you more of a fine Italian auto sort of girl? Or do you prefer rides that are tuned to race?
Carla: Lol..I guess you could say I'm a fine italian car sort. I love anything luxurious. My first car when I was younger was a BMW so I have a thing for fancy things.
WW: What do you drive?
Carla: Right now I drive a 2001 BMW 330ci but am looking to get a new CLK 350
WW: Any big plans for 2006?
Carla: I plan on moving to LA or Orange County so that's pretty big for me.
WW: Do you have any words of wisdom for up and coming models?
Carla: Be true to yourself. Never compromise who you are or what you are comfortable with. Have fun and don't feel pressured to be or look a certain way.
